The Black diaspora is a diverse tapestry of cultures, customs, social practices, religions, and more that span the entire globe and scope of human history. Gaining insights into these key concepts and practices will be key in unlocking the potential in each of us to make the desired impact we wish to have on others, and in the world around us, by contextualizing our very existence. The tradition of oral histories (and written histories, too), have been with our people for centuries. We hope this evolving collection of oral histories, our Griot of the Month, and written histories can reveal the seemingly lost stories that so many of us never knew about.
